About Sunday School
The Sunday School meets in the Cathedral Hall from 10.30 until 11.30, although children are still supervised after that time if the Cathedral Service has not finished. Children are welcome with their parents before they start nursery but most children are between 4 and 11 ( Primary School age). We spend the time in worship, singing, stories, activities and craft. At around 11.15am the children are escorted upstairs to the Cathedral for a blessing while adults are receiving the Eucharist. We then return downstairs until the end of the service.
Children are also encouraged to be part of other Cathedral Activities such as singing in the choir and serving.
When Sunday School is running we are pleased to welcome new children whether they are visiting the Cathedral for the day or wanting to attend regularly.
All helpers in Sunday School are DBS checked and we have a strict child protection policy for working with children in the Cathedral
We do not meet during the Summer, Easter and Christmas holidays but we usually continue to run during half terms. Parents/ Guardians are always informed of changes to the usual timetable. During the holidays we cannot guarantee that Sunday School staff will be in the Cathedral and therefore should be accompanied to the service if they wish to attend.
