The Chapter of Newport Cathedral seeks to appoint a versatile, inspirational and talented Director of Music to develop its choral and musical life.

We are looking for:

• a well-motivated church musician of a high standard,
• someone who is able to enthuse, encourage and enable all ages,
• an outgoing person who is able to relate to those with no previous church or cathedral background,
• a practitioner with the ability to manage the ‘classroom’ and to work effectively with children, young people and adults (both professional and volunteer),
• a skilled organist of recital standard,
• someone who takes an interest in the whole person, including the faith development of choristers.
• a team player, with a lightness of touch and versatility.

Newport is the gateway to South Wales, one of the largest conurbations in Wales, with excellent road and rail links.

Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 7^th May 2024.
