Friends Of Newport Cathedral

Our Invaluable Friends

The Friends of Newport Cathedral are admirers of the building, its history and its community. They are an important part of the Cathedral and work together to preserve it, contributing financially and directly to many individual and vital projects.

The Friends are responsible for a number of activities which are aimed at enhancing the smooth day-to-day running of life at the Cathedral. Through membership donation, they directly support the work that goes on here. Their contribution is invaluable while maintaining the Cathedral’s worship and in restoring, maintaining and improving the fabric of the building. Some of the Friends take a very active part in the daily life of the Cathedral. Many support from a distance, but all are greatly valued.

Friends & Volunteering

A number of Friends have been involved helping out. Sometimes there are specific events and concerts where an active role is needed. For others it could mean being involved in the day-to-day running of things. Friends may bring their particular skills, such as gardening while others work in the Cathedral Shop.  All are welcome! Near or far, your contribution, be it financial, or practical is very much appreciated.

The Friends are invited on an annual outing which is usually to places of worship and interest – often combined with some shopping for those who are interested!
